Licensure Examination for Teachers: Top Performing Schools

LET or the Licensure Examination for Teachers is a nationwide test for all aspiring teachers. This licensing test is biannually conducted for both primary and secondary levels of teaching.

The most recent Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) happened in September 30, 2018. It was administered by the PRC Board of Professional Teachers. The board was headed by its Chairman, Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, its Vice Chairman Dr. Paz I. Lucido, together with its members – Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy.

Congratulations to all examinees who passed. Your families and schools are so proud of you! In fact, here are the best performing schools based on last September’s Licensure Examination for Teachers.

Primary Level

On the primary level, a total of 20.29% of those who took the test passed to become licensed elementary teachers. That’s 18, 409 teachers!

#4 Philippine Normal University – Manila

Coming in 4th is the Philippine Normal University – Manila. Of the 86 students who took the exam, 70 of them passed giving PNU an 81.40% passing rate.

#3 Bohol Island State University – Tagbilaran

Up a few notches is Bohol Island State University – Tagbilaran with a passing rate of 84.93%. That’s 62 examinees who passed out of the 73 from the said university who took it.

#2 West Visayas State University – La Paz

In second is West Visayas State University in La Paz! 244 out of their 287 students who took the exam passed. Thus, giving them an 85.02% passing rate.

#1 University of Santo Tomas

The best performing school is University of Santo Tomas with a passing rate of 86.78%. That’s 105 examinees who passed out of the 121 who took it!

Secondary Level

On the other hand, 60,803 secondary teachers passed the LET. That’s a passing rate of 48.03%! Yay, teachers!

#5 Philippine Normal University – Mindanao

In 5th is Philippine Normal University in Mindanao with a 91.18% passing rate. 217 of their 238 students who took the exam passed the test.

#4 University of Santo Tomas

University of Santo Tomas is ranked 4th having 194 of the 211 students who took the exam passing and a 91.94% passing rate.

#3 Compostela Valley State College – Main

The top 3 spots are tied in closely with Compostela Valley State College racking up 54 out of its 58 students with passing marks. That’s 93.10%!

#2 Ateneo de Davao University

Not too far away is Ateneo de Davao University with a 93.94% passing rate. 62 of its 66 students are now licensed secondary teachers.

#1 University of the Philippines – Diliman

At the top spot in University of the Philippines – Diliman with a passing rate of 94.19%! That’s 81 out of its students passing and off to being licensed secondary teachers!

The next Licensure Examination for Teachers is happening on March 24, 2019. If you weren’t able to register for that one, there’s another one coming up later this year.
