With the increase in demand for technical-vocational skills in the country, TESDA and TVL have become two of the common words that students encounter and use interchangeably.

Here’s a quick round-up of facts about TESDA and TVL.

TESDA stands for Technical Education and Skills Development Authority created through RA no. 7796. It is the government agency that manages and supervises the technical-vocational programs in the country. It was established in 1994 to assist in the enhancement of the technical-vocational skills of the country’s human resource and the development of mid-level manpower.

TVL, on the other hand, is one of the tracks for Senior High School students that offers tech-voc lessons. It is under the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 that adds additional 2 years in basic education.  It has four strands: Agri-fishery Arts, Home Economics, Industrial Arts, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
