What You Need To Know About The CPUPE (Central Philippine University Placement Exam)

The Central Philippine University is one of the leading higher education institutions in Iloilo. It was founded in 1905 through a grant given by the American businessman and philanthropist, John D. Rockefeller. The university has CHED Centers of Excellence and Development for the following programs:
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Teacher Education
- Business Administration
If you are an incoming college student planning to study at CPU, here are the important things you need to know about the Central Philippine University Placement Exam:
What is the Central Philippine University Placement Exam (CPUPE)?
The CPUPE is an annual examination for incoming students of CPU. The CPUPE is NOT an entrance test. Rather, the exam aims to determine the ability level of freshmen enrollees for Math and English classes.
The entrance test depends if the academic program you’re planning to take at CPU requires an entrance exam. If your chosen academic program demands an entrance test, the test is usually scheduled after the placement examinations.
What are the application requirements of the Central Philippine University Placement Exam?
To apply for the CPUPE, you need to prepare the following requirements:
- Valid ID such as school ID and passport
- PHP 200 for the CPUPE placement fee
- Pencil No. 2 with eraser
You may pay the placement examination fee at the following collecting agents:
Palawan Express Pera Padala – ID Number: 16-0001-18
SM Super Malls within Iloilo City – ID Number: 16-004-27
If you pay the placement fee through a CPU collecting agent, submit your receipt with your name to the proctor or officer-in-charge during your CPUPE application at the university.
For foreign students, you need to submit the following documents:
- Letter of intent to study
- Copy of valid passport
- School records (with English translation, and duly signed by the Principal or School Registrar)
- Duly accomplished forms
- Application fee of USD 50
