The Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy is a 5-year degree program that aims to develop competencies in different practice settings through patient/client management which includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention and outcomes assessment. The program is composed of four (4) years of classroom instruction and one (1) year Clinical Internship Program composed of 1,700 hours of clinical exposure. Students are required to pass a Revalida Examination upon completion of the internship program prior to graduation. After graduation, students are required to take the Licensure Examination given bi-annually by the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy of the Professional Regulatory Board.
Potential employment opportunities include clinical/hospital/institutional settings, sports, education, research, health and occupational safety, health and well-being and community-based rehabilitation.
College Traditions and Practice
The College of Physical Therapy has been producing outstanding and competent Physical Therapists. To achieve this end, the college continuously update and improve its curriculum and instruction through relevant activities that promote holistic development.
The college is an affiliate of several organizations like Philippine Physical Therapy Association (PPTA), National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), Philippine Association of Rehabilitation Sciences Schools (PARSS), Association of Philippine Physical Therapy Students (APPTS) and Local Government Units (LGUs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). Faculty members and students are given opportunities to participate in events organized by these organizations to further enhance their knowledge and skills.
