What does Angeles University Foundation (AUF) stand for?

Angeles University Foundation (AUF) is a private Roman Catholic university in Angeles City, Pampanga. It is a non-stock, non-profit educational institution that was established on May 25, 1962 by Mr. Agustin P. Angeles, Barbara Yap-Angeles, and family. After only less than nine years of operation, the institution was granted University status on April 16, 1971 by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (now the Department of Education, or DepEd). 

The campus is located along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Lourdes Sur, Angeles City.  AUF offers an array of comprehensive programs that covers basic education as well as college courses, namely College of Allied Medical Professions, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Accountancy, College of Computer Studies, College of Criminal Justice Education, College of Education, College of Engineering and Architecture, and College of Nursing.  Currently, AUF has a total of 63 academic programs scattered across 8 colleges, excluding a Medical and Law school.

Angeles University Foundation is no stranger to accreditations. The university's Computer Studies programs have been accredited by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as academic centers. The school also boasts of Centers of Excellence (COE) in Information Technology, Teacher Education, and Criminal Justice Education, and Centers of Development (COD) in Computer Engineering and Nursing. The Angeles University Foundation has been granted Autonomous Status since 2003. Likewise, it is also ISO 9001-2000 Certification by TUV-SUD.
