  • SHS Admission Requirements and Procedures

    The following documents shall be secured by the admissions office prior to enrollment. These documents shall be endorsed to the records office with an accompanying signed receipt at an appointed time:

    • For Senior High School students
    • Original PSA Birth Certificate
    • Original Grade 10/4th year Report Card
    For Dual Citizens
    • Copy of Bureau of Immigration and Deportation registration/Issuance of Identification Certificate
    For Foreign Students
    • Original Copy of Transcript of Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service establishment located in the student’s country of origin or legal residence
    • Copy of student permit/visa and I-card
    • Copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or its equivalent authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post in applicant’s country of origin or legal residence
    • Copy of original passport bio-page, latest admission and authorized stay
    • For Permanent Residents: a verified Certificate of Registration from the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation.
    If the applicant fails to submit any of the above requirements at the time of enrolment
    • The applicant shall write the Admissions Head
    • The applicant shall sign an undertaking which guarantees the submission of the missing document at a prescribed date. (Failure to abide by such undertaking shall result into student’s voluntary withdrawal from the school).
    • The Admissions Head confers with the Registrar regarding appeal. If approved, the Admissions Head and Registrar must sign appeal letter.
    • The missing document/s shall be followed up by the Records office and must be received before the midterm examination.
    Non-Catholic Students
    • Non-catholic may apply for admission into Assumption College. If qualified and accepted, she is required to attend Theology classes.
    • Accepted non-Catholics are prohibited from proselytizing.
    Disqualifications
    • The following are disqualified from admission:
    • Applicants with records of serious disciplinary violations;
    • Applicants with manifestations of overt deviant behavior;
    • Applicants with existing modeling and/or film, television, radio contracts
    • Assumption College students who have been separated from the school for academic or disciplinary reasons,
    • All appeals for reconsideration are referred to the Admissions Committee.

    Procedures

    4. Take entrance exam. Please call or text the Admissions Office for the next available test dates.
    5. Come for scheduled interview. Applicant must be accompanied by parent or guardian
    6. Receive official letter of acceptance
    7. Pay reservation fee
    8. Submit all documents required for entollment
    9. Attend required Parent Orientation
    10. Enroll

  • College Admission Requirements and Procedures

    • For regular 1st year students
    • Original PSA Birth Certificate
    • Original 4th year report card
    For Transferees
    • Honorable dismissal and transfer credentials for transferees
    • Complete records of collegiate grades certified by the school Registrar
    • Course description of subjects taken and the grading system in previous school
    For Dual Citizens
    • Copy of Bureau of Immigration and Deportation registration/Issuance of Identification Certificate
    For Foreign Students
    • Original Copy of Transcript of Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service establishment located in the student’s country of origin or legal residence
    • Copy of student permit/visa and I-card
    • Copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or its equivalent authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post in applicant’s country of origin or legal residence

    Additional Guidelines for Transferees
    • Applicants from other Colleges and universities must have an equivalent GPA no lower than 2.5
    • Transferees who had been dismissed from the College or have records of academic failure, deficiency and disciplinary violations shall not qualify for acceptance to the college.
    • Appeals for reconsideration must be referred to the College Dean or the Admissions Committee with evaluate the merits of the case to reject or endorse the same to the Chairperson of course choice.
    • Students who previously attended Assumption College but left to study in other college/university and are considering re-entry shall be categorized as transferees and shall undergo the same process applicable to transferees. They must apply through the Admissions Office for re-admission.
    • Assumption College will only credit a maximum of 30 academic units provided these are required in the approved curricula of the course applied for and only for those subjects where the applicant received a grade of 85% or higher.
    • Granting of credits taken from previous schools will be determined by the Registrar in consultation with the department chairperson.
    • The honorable dismissal document from last school attended will be required only if the applicant is accepted and enrolls in the College.
    • All transferees are accepted on probation upon admission.
    • Transferees who had enrolled in two or more Colleges/Universities prior to Assumption College will be automatically be disqualified from Admissions. (Except for special cases e.g.: family movement due to work assignment of parents).
    Re-entry Students
    • A student who has filed a leave of absence for a semester or a year and did not enroll in another college or university must re-apply for re-entry by submitting a letter of request to the Associate Dean prior to the start of the semester.
    • The re-entry form must be obtained from the Admissions Office. The student must be cleared by the following:
      1. College Dean / Associate Dean
      2. Admissions Unit Head
      3. Dean of Student Affairs
      4. Department Chairperson
      5. Guidance Office
      6. Treasurer’s Office
      7. Clinic
    • Re-entry of students who have left the College from 3-5 years shall be determined by the Associate Dean of the course in consultation with the Chairperson and the Registrar. Re-entry students who have left the College for a period of 3 years and above shall complete a new application form.
    • All re-entry students approved for admission shall be automatically placed on a probationary status.
    Second Undergraduate Degree Students
    • Assumption College graduates who wish to take a second undergraduate degree course will follow the curriculum prescribed for the course. General education subjects required which were already successfully taken in the first degree shall be credited.
    • College graduates from other schools who wish to earn a second undergraduate degree should submit the ff. to the Admissions Office.
      1. Letter addressed to the Admissions Committee
      2. Transcript of records (GPA of at least 85%)
      3. Discipline record from previous counselor, adviser or dean
      4. They will follow procedures for transferees
    • The application is forwarded to the Chairperson of course choice.
    Married/Unmarried Students
    • Married women and single mothers may apply for admission into Assumption College. They follow application procedures applicable to their student status e.g. re-entry; Transferee; Second Degree. 
    • If accepted, they must submit a sworn certification that the applicant does not have any children below one year of age at the time of acceptance. 
    Non-Catholic Students
    • Non-catholic may apply for admission into Assumption College. If qualified and accepted, she is required to attend Theology classes. 
    • Accepted non-Catholics are prohibited from proselytizing. 
    Foreign Students
    • A non permanent resident of the Philippines seeking admission to the College must follow the same application procedures for First Year College enrollees. 
    • An applicant aged 18 years and above must show her original and submit a copy of her I-Card and her student visa 9f/ study permit from the Bureau of Immigration. 
    • Those below 18 years must get a Special Study Permit (SSP) from the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation. 
    • A Foreign student applicant must show her original and submit a copy of her passport bio-page, latest admission and authorized stay;
    • In addition, foreign students must submit:
      1. Transcript of records / scholastic records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service post located in the applicant’s country of origin or legal residence 
      2. Copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or its equivalent authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post in applicant’s country of origin or legal residence
      3. For permanent Residents: a verified Certificate of Registration from the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation.
    Dual Citizens
    • Dual citizens are governed by rules of Philippine citizenship
    • Dual citizens must be duly registered by the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation and have been issued an Identification Certificate (IC). 
    Audit Students
    • A student who enrolls in the College for audit take subjects without credit/ grade.
    • Decision for acceptance will have to be approved by the Admissions Office in consultation with the Associate Dean of course choice. 
    • Applicant pays the required amount of Php 700.00 for the application form. 
    Disqualifications
    • The following are disqualified from admission: 
    • Applicants with records of serious disciplinary violations;
    • Applicants with manifestations of overt deviant behavior;
    • Applicants with existing modeling and/or film, television, radio contracts 
    • Transferees who have been refused admission for any reason in her current/last college or university; and
    • Assumption College students who have been separated from the College for academic or disciplinary reasons,
    • All appeals for reconsideration are referred to the College Dean and/or Admissions Committee.

    Freshmen
     
    1. Admission to Assumption College is open to 4th yr. female high school students from different schools across the region and the Asia Pacific. To qualify, the applicant shall have strong academic preparation with an average to above average rating in the stanine scale.
    2. Applicants shall be evaluated on the following criteria:
      • Entrance test results.
      • Academic Performance and potential
      • Disciplinary Record
      • Accomplishments within their school community
      • Recommendations from school counselor, adviser or high school principal
    The Purpose of Each Criteria:
    1. Entrance Test Results
      The purpose of a placement exam is to determine whether the applicant is academically prepared to enroll in a particular course. Specific rating on particular areas should be considered depending on the applied course of the student. For example if the student is applying for Accounting she should have a rating of average to above average in numerical ability as measured by the Assumption College Admissions Test (ACAT) and so with high school grade in Math or given additional tests to measure skills needed for course choice.
    2. Academic Performance in High School
      The applicant's general average must be at least 85%.
    3. Disciplinary Record
      Must have a recommendation without reservation from the school she came from. Manifestations of deviant behavior like homosexuality, substance abuse and illicit relationships shall result in automatic rejection of application.
    4. School Involvement
      Involvement in extra curricular activities.
    5. Recommendations from high school counselor, adviser or high school principal.
      Assessment forms from the admissions office shall be accomplished by the particulars mentioned above.

    Academic Support Programs:
    Applicants whose English or Math score or both in the ACAT is low average are required to take the English / Math Bridge to reinforce skills needed for College work.

    Other Requirements:
    1. Enrollment in the College is a privilege, which may be forfeited by anyone whose conduct is inconsistent with the policies and regulations of the school.
    2. The Parent Partnership Program provides orientation for parents of new students to learn more about the college, its operations and how it seeks to partner with them in the education of their daughters.

    Transferees
     
    1. Applicants from other Colleges and universities whose equivalent GPA are lower than 2.5 shall not be accepted for admission to the College.
    2. Transferees who had been dismissed from the College due to academic failure, deficiency and disciplinary violations shall not qualify for acceptance to the College. Appeals for reconsideration must be referred to the Admissions Committee which evaluate the merits of the case to reject or endorse the same to the Chairperson of course choice.
    3. Students who previously attended Assumption College but left to study in other college/university and are considering re-entry shall be categorized as transferees and shall undergo the same process applicable to transferees. They must apply through the Admissions Office for re-admission.
    4. Assumption College will only credit a maximum of 30 academic units provided these are required in the approved curricula of the course applied for and only for those subjects where the applicant received a grade of 85% or higher. If the applicant qualifies, after initial evaluation of grades she secures from the Admissions Office the application form and complete the requirements. Testing date will be scheduled by the Admissions Office.
    5. Granting of credits taken from previous schools will be determined by the Registrar in consultation with the department chairperson. Transferees should have a:
      • College GPA at least 85% for all semesters attended in the last school
      • No failure in any subject and no incomplete grades
      • No disciplinary record from the college/university she came from
    6. Applicants follows the procedure for new enrolles.
    7. The honorable dismissal document from last school attended will be required only if the applicant is accepted and enrolls in the College.
    8. All transferees are accepted on probation upon admission.
    9. Transferees who had enrolled in two or more Colleges/Universities prior to Assumption College will be authomatically be disqualified from Admissions. (Except for special cases: eg. Family movement due to work assignment of parents)

    Re-entry students

    A student who has filed a leave of absence for a semester or a year must re-apply for re-entry by submitting a letter of request to the Associate Dean prior to the start of the semester.
    Re-entry of students who have left the College from 3-5 years shall be determined by the Associate Dean of course in consultation with the chairperson and the registrar.
    If approved, the applicant accomplishes the re-entry form and submits this to the Registrar's Office upon enrollment.


    Second Degree Applicants
     
    1. Assumption College graduates who wish to take a second degree course will follow the curriculum prescribed for the course. General education subjects required which were already successfully taken in the first degree shall be credited.
    2. College graduates from other schools who wish to earn a second undergraduate degree should submit the following to the Admissions Office.
      1. letter addressed to the Admissions Committee
      2. transcript of records (GPA of at least 85%)
      3. discipline record from previous counselor,adviser or dean
      4. they will follow procedures for transferees
    3. The application is forwarded to the Chairperson of course choice. If recommended for testing, the applicant follows the procedure at the undergraduate level.

    Foreign Students
     
    1. A non permanent resident of the Philippines seeking admission to the College must follow the following procedures:
      • Secure an application form at the College Admissions Office and pay the corresponding fee at the Treasurer's Office.
      • Foreign students follow the application procedure for Freshmen enrollees.
      • Admissions Office will follow the same process for Freshmen enrollees in the assessing of applicants category and classification.
    2. Upon notification of acceptance the applicant pays a fee for visa processing and forms required for the application for students visa.
      1. Five (5) copies of the Student's Personal History Statement (PHS) duly signed by her, both in English and her national alphabet accompanied by her personal zeal, if any, and containing, among others, her left anf right thumbprints and a 2x2 inch photograph or plain white background taken not more than six (6) months prior to submission.
      2. Transcript of Records/Scholastic Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student applicant's country of origin or legal residence.
      3. A notarized affidavit of support and proof of adequate financial support to cover expenses for students accommodation and subsistence, school dues and other incidental expenses.
      4. A copy of the applicant's birth certificate or its equivalent authenticated by the Philippine Foerign Service Post.
      5. Police clearance issued by the National police authorities from the students country of origin or legal residence authenticated by the Phil. Foreign Service Post having consular jurisdiction over the place.
      6. Medical Health Certificate issued by authorized physician including the ff:
        • standard chest x-ray
        • blood test
        • urine and stool test
        • HIV test
        • Quarantine medical examination by the National Quarantine Office.
    All foreign students shall pay an alien fee of 7,000 every year to the Liaison Officer of the Registrar's Office.
    For permanent residents, a verified Certificate of Registration (ACR) from the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID).


    Reservation

    Requirements:
    1. Acceptance letter from the College Admissions Office.
    2. Original NSO birth certificate
    3. Lab test results
    4. Original 4th year report card
    Note: Confirmation Fee/Reservation Fee is Php 10,000.00
    Procedure:
    1. Present acceptance letter to the Admissions Office.
    2. Present report card or transfer credentials or official receipt showing payment of DECS processing fee to the Admissions Office
    3. Acceptance letter is stamped "cleared for registration"
    4. Bring acceptance letter on registration day.

    CLEARANCE FOR REGISTRATION
    Requirements for Freshmen
