Development Studies is a program designed for students who want to solve the world’s most pressing societal problems — problems of poverty, climate change, sustainable development, human rights, inclusivity, conflict, public health, education, and the like. Students are exposed to different perspectives and interventions directed at understanding the processes and challenges of social transformation. The program employs a multi-disciplinary approach, harnessing tools, skill sets, and insights from Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Management, Social Research, and other fields to inform students’ understanding of issues as well as their ability to design, manage, and evaluate interventions. The program utilizes a highly diverse cadre of researchers and practitioners as its faculty. It employs learning approaches that involve plenty of hands-on field experience and opportunities to interact and network with development professionals
