Course Description

The Bachelor of Speech Pathology will teach you how to help people who have trouble communicating and/or swallowing. The course encompasses all aspects of communication including: speech writing reading signs symbols and gestures. Speech pathologists also work with people who have difficulties swallowing food and drink, such as children with a cleft lip and palate. Clinical placement is offered throughout this speech pathology degree, starting in the first year. In the fourth and final year, clinical placement is a major part of the course. Students will be required to undertake clinical placements under the supervision of a practicing speech pathologist totalling over 1000 hours.
