Bicol University (BU) is a state university established in 1969 in Region V (Bicol Region). The university was founded through the convergence of different educational institutions within the region. Among these institutions are the Bicol Teacher's College (BTC) with its Laboratory School (BTCLS), and Bicol Regional School of Arts and Trades, Roxas Memorial Agricultural School (RMAS). These colleges formed the multidisciplinary institution that Bicol University is today. With seven campuses in the Bicol Region, BU aims to become a world-class university producing leaders and change agents for social transformation and development.
At present, BU’s main campus in Legazpi City caters to Senior High School and undergraduate students. The campus’ Senior High School Department offers academic tracks in ABM, STEM, and HUMSS. At the same time, the campus offers undergraduate programs in the fields of arts and letters, education, nursing, science, and physical education, sports, and recreation.
