Cagayan State University – Lasam (CSU - Lasam) was originally established as the Western Cagayan School of Arts and Trades. By virtue of the Charter of Cagayan State University (P.D. No. 1436), the institution was integrated as one of the campuses of the
Cagayan State University (CSU) system. When it first opened its doors following the signing of the Charter in 1978, courses were originally taught by only ten faculty members.
Since then, the Lasam campus has grown immensely. The university has three colleges which offer undergraduate degrees, namely: the
College of Teacher Education, College of Information and Computing Sciences, and
the College of Industrial Technology. Diploma programs in
Industrial Technology and
Information Technology are also open for admissions in the Lasam campus.
