Cebu Technological University – Barili Campus is an external campus under the
Cebu Technological University (CTU) system. The campus began as the
Sudlon Agricultural School through the passing of the Omnibus Law 948 in 1948. After six years of operation, the school was transferred to Lahug, Cebu City and became part of the Bureau of Vocational Education – EDPITAF Program, which led to the opening of undergraduate studies in Agriculture. It was only in 2001 when the campus was relocated in
Cagay, Barili as part of its integration in the university system. In 2018, the Cebu Technological University, as a state university, was included in the
Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, which granted its students full tuition subsidy.
At present, CTU-Barili still specializes in agricultural programs; it has bachelor's degree programs in
Agriculture, Agribusiness, Food Technology, and Development Communication. Additionally, it has graduate and post-graduate courses in
Animal Science, Horticulture, and
Agricultural Economics. Aside from these, the Barili Campus also has both undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of
Teacher Education, Hospitality Mangement, Industrial Technology, Information Technology, Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering, and
Veterinary Medicine. The university also provides several
diploma and certificate courses.
