Cebu Technological University – San Francisco Campus is an external campus under the
Cebu Technological University (CTU) system. The campus started in 1956 as the
Cebu School of Fisheries in the municipality of Poro by the virtue of the Republic Act No. 1984. In 1961, the school was relocated to the municipality of San Francisco to accommodate the increasing number of students. Two years later, it was also renamed as the Magsaysay School of Fisheries. Then, in 1984, the school became part of the Cebu Technological University system (as
CSCST-Fishery and Industrial College), which was the Cebu State College of Science and Technology back then.
Currently, CTU-San Francisco offers bachelor's degree courses in
Teacher Education, Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Hospitality Management, and
Fisheries. It also has a new program in
Tourism Management. These programs are duly recognized by the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED). Additionally, students of the university can take their classes for free, as the university system is included in the
Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
