Course Description

A five-year undergraduate course that prepare the students in their pursuit of the Architecture profession towards being a competitive and world-class professionals. Major subjects of the program include Architectural Planning and Design subjects that give fundamental knowledge to students in designing simplest residential dwellings to complex building structures. Building Technology, Materials of Construction and Utilities subjects, focuses on the current trends in the industry. Construction Management subjects, on the other hand, gives opportunities for students to experience real-life situations in handling actual projects; Research Method subject, meanwhile, helps the students translate their on-hand knowledge through data gathering and paperworks presentation; the History of Architecture subjects open the knowledge and awareness of the students in recognising the past and connecting it to the present study of the architecture; while the Professional Practice & Ethics offers the students a glimpse of what to expect in the actual application of all the knowledge they have acquired during their entire study of the course.

Drafting Technology through the Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) subjects, are another offering of the BS Architecture program in response to the modern practice using advanced systems and technology in today’s fast-paced world.

Specific Objectives
  • To technically train students in Design imbued with a sense of aesthetics, safety, and a deep concern for the accessibility for the handicapped;
  • To provide the students with the architectural knowledge and skills that will enable them to serve society while earning a decent living;
  • To continuously improve the approaches and methodologies in the Architectural Education parallel with the current trends;
  • To produce good, educated, and independent Architects with strong sense of duty and reverence to the country. The Architecture Curriculum follows the recent CHED Memo. Order No 61.
