Learn how companies, government and households work with a focus on financial markets and institutions. In Banking, you’ll study the developments of the financial sector and learn about the field of economics. You’ll develop a working knowledge of the Australian banking and financial system with a broad perspective of the environment of business.

In Finance, you’ll gain an understanding of the structure and operations of financial markets in management. You’ll learn about investment evaluation, decide how to fund activities, and understand the roles played by financial markets and instruments.

What the course involves

During your first year of the Bachelor of Commerce you’ll complete common core units which will provide an introduction to the various aspects of business. You do not need to make a final decision on a single or combined major until your second semester.

High achieving students may complete an additional honours year enabling them to undertake their own significant research project.
