Our Chinese language course is designed to teach both language and cultural/communicative studies. With much of the world’s social and economic growth occurring in Asia, undertaking a degree in this area will provide you with the required skills and knowledge for employment opportunities in Australia and Asia.

This major is designed to provide you with a high level of literacy in the Chinese language (listening, speaking, reading and writing) as well as an understanding of Chinese culture and society. 

No previous study of the language is required. If you have previously studied Chinese, you will take more advanced classes. There are also units specifically designed for native speakers of Chinese.

China is rapidly changing and full of opportunities. Chinese major will ensure you are prepared for your future career. 

Chinese is offered as part of the Bachelor of Arts. You can enhance your studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support your career goals.
