The Journalism stream prepares you with the skills, understanding and professionalism you need for a career in the media industry.

You will be taught by journalists with many years experience in print, radio and television. You will learn the professional aspects of journalism practice, the history and economics of the media, social and ethical issues, together with a theoretical understanding of media law and regulation.

You can also choose to expand your knowledge by incorporating studies in related media areas, such as film and television and the social sciences (anthropology, history, politics, sociology).

You will be provided with professional experience and publishing opportunities through the Western Independent newspaper, Curtin FM 100.1 and the Aurora channel. When you complete this course, you will have a substantial portfolio of published or broadcast work to help you start your career.
