Design photography covers all aspects of the visual medium while focusing on the 'photographer as designer'.

It is a field witnessing rapid transformation with the advent of new and continually evolving digital image capture and production technologies. These technologies and production processes are key areas of study and investigation within this major, with emphasis on design principles and practice.

What the course involves:

As part of the Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication), this stream develops your competencies in technical, mechanical, cultural and aesthetic aspects of photography and their interdependence.

This major provides a variety of vocational competencies in evolving digital modes of production and dissemination, as well as the practical application of communication theory and design principles.
