Inform the world

Consider a career in public relations (PR) and get inside knowledge of the inner workings of the media industry. In Public Relations you’ll be provided with the writing, event management, networking and organisational skills required to work in corporate or consultancy environments. You’ll learn how to help businesses achieve their goals and how to represent them in the best possible light while considering the needs of all involved.

In Journalism you’ll develop the theoretical and practical skills of the field, and the ability to research, prepare and publish news and current affairs stories across the media. Throughout your studies, you will be given the opportunity to publish your work through Curtin FM and the Western Independent.

This major combination can be taken as either a Bachelor of Commerce or a Bachelor of Arts. If you enrol in the Bachelor of Commerce you will gain broad business knowledge through your first year by completing common core business units. These units provide an introduction to the various aspects of business.

High achieving students may complete an additional honours year enabling them to undertake their own significant research project.
