The Visualisation and Interactive Media major is one of five in the Master of Arts course providing you with advanced skills and insights into new technologies and devices. The program is multi-disciplinary, covering media, management and business, content production, and the latest media technologies. You will explore the critical and practical aspects of new technologies, their social and cultural impact on our lives and the way we work with them now and in the future.

You’ll learn that virtual and augmented experiences, multi-touch interfaces, mobile device views and social networks mean users can see, explore and share relationships, experiences and insights in new ways. This major will teach you the skills to specialise in these visualisation and interactive media technologies, or to incorporate them into your area of professional practice or research. Participants are encouraged to apply and test these skills and understanding through applied practice in the form of an advanced discipline project and a professionally-orientated placement.

In your first year you will undertake introductory units, develop your skills in your chosen discipline and prepare for your major project. In your second year you will complete your major project and have an opportunity for internship within a relevant industry upon meeting required conditions.
