The College of Pharmacy DLSHSI is in its third year of offering a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program after a successful initial offering in school year 2014-2015.  The College was granted government recognition effective this school year 2016-2017. BS Pharmacy is a four-year degree intended for people who wants to have a career in the different dynamic fields of the pharmaceutical profession.  Our graduates are provided with a comprehensive training that may lead to a career  in a wide range of scientific  fields such as in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, government agencies, research establishments, public health and in the pharmaceutical industry to name a few. The study of pharmacy includes the identification, discovery, isolation, synthesis, and formulation of biologically active compounds for clinical use. Graduates of Pharmacy must be competent in managing drug stores; in identifying, developing, manufacturing and dispensing of drugs; and in providing pharmaceutical care as well as counseling clients in the proper use of both prescribed and patient chosen medications.  Pharmacy has undergone a lot of changes in the past few years, and graduates of the course has also specialized in specific fields of Pharmacy such as Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacoeconomics, Public health and Forensic Pharmacy among others.

The BS Pharmacy curriculum comprises of 72-units of CHED-mandated general education courses, 30-units essential core subjects, and 90-units professional pharmacy courses presented through lectures and laboratory classes. The program requires Thesis and Research Project in addition to the Practicum in the three major pharmaceutical areas of internship, namely Community, Hospital and Manufacturing Pharmacy.  The internship program is structured to provide experiences that supplement what students learn in the classroom. The program supports and guides the students while allowing them to progress on their own pace based upon their experiences and interests.
