Divine Word College of Calapan (DWCC)
is a private, Catholic school in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro
. It was founded in 1946 by the missionaries of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD)
as the Mindoro Junior College
, initially offering courses in Normal Education, Liberal Arts, Pre-Law, Typing, and Stenography. By 1965, the school was already offering classes for elementary students. To be more fitting of the Catholic background of the school, its name was changed to Divine Word College of Calapan in 1981. At present, DWCC has three campuses in the province
. Two are in Calapan City
while the other one is located in Pinamalayan
The school offers primary and secondary level education as well as tertiary level programs. The Senior High School department has available strands under the Academic
and the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL)
tracks. The college department, on the other hand, has undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Teacher Education, Information Technology, Accountancy, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Criminology,
and Liberal Arts.
Additionally, DWCC is a TESDA accredited training and assessment center
for Computer Systems Servicing, Food and Beverage Services, and Housekeeping.
