Originally the Carigara School of Fisheries, the
Eastern Visayas State University - Carigara (EVSU - Carigara) is a public academic institution located in the municipality of Carigara, Leyte. The school was initially established in 1952 then eventually started its school operation in 1961. Almost four decades since it started its operation, the campus became part of the Leyte Institute of Technology which is known as the
Eastern Visayas State University.
The Carigara campus has its own specialization in terms of academic training and instruction. Being a school of fisheries before, the campus still opens its admissions for students who are looking to pursue their
Fisheries degree. It also offers undergraduate degrees in
Entrepreneurship, Information Technology, and
Secondary Education which has
various majors under its curriculum.
