Guimaras State College (GSC) is a public educational institution established in 1968. The school started out as a secondary vocational institution called Buenavista Vocational School (BVS). It officially became a state college through Republic Act 9138 signed by Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in 2001. It has three campuses in the province---Buenavista (main), Baterna and Mosqueda.
GSC offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of Industrial Technology, Business Management, Education, and Criminology. In addition to these programs, the school also has a senior high school program for Grade 11 and 12 students.
As an academic institution, the Guimaras State College envisions to be the center of excellence in education and green technology generation. Since its establishment, GSC has been continuously providing its learners with affordable, relevant education. Aside from this, the school has also been advocating sustainable development and conducting research and extension programs that will contribute to the enrichment of knowledge and improvement of the quality of lives.
