Guimaras State College (GSC) is a public higher educational institution with several campuses in the province island of Guimaras. The college started as the
Buenavista Vocational School (BVS) in 1964. In 1995, BVS became the
Guimaras Polytechnic College (GPC) after over a decade of providing higher education courses. Then, together with the
West Visayas College of Science and Technology (WVCST) – Mosqueda Campus, GPC became a state college in 2001 through the
Republic Act 9138.
GSC currently has the main campus and three satellite campuses—Mosqueda, Baterna, and Salvador. The main campus in Buenavista offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in the areas of
Agricultural Science, Humanities, Business Management, Criminal Justice Education, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Information Science, and
Teacher Education.
