Harris Memorial College (HMC) is a private educational institution in
Taytay, Rizal. It was established in 1906 as the Harris Memorial Bible Training School. In 1922, the school opened a kindergarten department, the first in the country. Then, in 1968, the training school became the first institution to offer a Bachelor of Kindergarten Education. That same year, the school was renamed to Harris Memorial College.
At present, the college offers bachelor's degree courses in
Christian Education, Church Music, Elementary Education, and
Early Childhood Education. Additionally, the school also offers a complete basic education program, with a Senior High School (SHS) department providing the
Academic, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), and
Arts and Design tracks.
Harris Memorial College and its programs are duly acknowledged by the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED) and the Department of Education
(DepEd). The school's Teacher Education programs have also been accredited by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines
(FAAP) through the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities – Accrediting Agency, Inc.
(ACSCU-AAI).
