HAU is the largest Catholic college in Central Luzon and is the only one in the Asia-Pacific region that has been included in the 2016 Newman Guide which provides key information on Catholic colleges recommended by the Cardinal Newman Society for its visible commitment to faithful Catholic education. Character Education Partnership Philippines, an affiliate of the Washington DC-based Character.org granted HAU a National School of Character distinction in December 2017, marking another first in the country. In October 2018, HAU’s “No Student Left Behind” campaign was recognized by Character.org in Washington, D.C. as a promising practice. HAU is known for its unique brand of accessible quality education, supported by capable and compassionate instructors.

In the continuous pursuit of academic excellence, HAU has garnered a number of awards and citations: Autonomous Status granted by the CHED, international accreditation from US-based International Assembly Council for Business Education (IACBE)—the first in the country and Southeast Asia, and Centers of Development for several programs. HAU is the first and only Higher Education Institution in the Philippines accredited by the US-based Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA) for its hospitality and tourism programs. In addition to accreditations from Philippines accrediting agencies, a growing number of programs are AUN-QA certified.
