Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) is a private, Catholic educational institution in
Davao City. It was founded in 1951 by the
Religious of the Virgin Mary Sisters (RVM). The sisters wanted to establish at Sta. Ana district an
annex of the Immaculate Conception College (presently University of the Immaculate Conception). By 1955, the annex became independent and was renamed Holy Cross Academy of Davao, offering co-educational programs from kindergarten to high school. The school was managed by the
Foreign Mission Society of Quebec (PME Fathers) from 1957 to 1976. Then, the administration was turned over the
Roman Catholic Bishop of Davao, who runs the school at present. HCDC has another campus in
Babak.
The college currently provides undergraduate degree programs under six departments, namely
Business and Mangement Education, Maritime Education, Criminal Justice Education, Engineering and Technology, Teacher Education, and
Humanities, Social Sciences, and Communication.
Graduate programs are also available in the areas of Religion and Theology and Teacher Education. HCDC also offers the
K-12 basic education program. Its Senior High School department has selected strands from the
Academic, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), and
Sports tracks.
