The PhD in Education graduate degree program aims to enhance and build upon the knowledge and competencies obtained from a graduate teacher education program. At the doctorate level, the program aims to develop students who have an expert level of theoretical knowledge in a specific subject area in education and have the competence and motivation to draw from expert-level knowledge to understand and solve different problems related to their area of specialization in education; and have the competence to undertake advanced independent research in an area of specialization in education.
