Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) was founded in 1937. Formerly known as the Government Trade School, it was the first publicly funded, post-secondary technical institution in
Hong Kong.
PolyU offers
undergraduate and postgraduate programs through its eight constituents: Faculty of Applied Science and Textiles, Faculty of Business, Faculty of Construction and Environment, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, School of Design, and School of Hotel and Tourism Management.
PolyU has been recognized as a top performing educational institution by
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). It is ranked 106th in the QS World University Rankings, 31st in the QS Asia University Rankings, and 7th in the QS Top 50 under 50 rankings.
