Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (IHMS) is a private, Catholic institution in
Tagbilaran, Bohol. It was opened in 1950 as a minor seminary for the
Diocese of Tagbilaran and was managed by the
Society of the Divine Word (SVD). It was in 1969 when IHMS had its first batch of Philosophy graduates. In 1989, operations of the high school department were stopped and then resumed in 2010.
Currently, the seminary offers an undergraduate degree program in
Philosophy. It also has a Senior High School (SHS) department providing the
General Academic Strand (GAS) and the
Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand. Included in the programs of IHMS are the
Four Pillars of Seminary Formation: Discipline, Academic, Apostolate, and Spirituality. It is made sure that students grow to be responsible community servants and leaders who have a strong foundation in Philosophy and most especially in the Gospel.
