Lorma Colleges is a private educational institution in the
City of San Fernando, La Union. It was founded in 1970 by
Dr. Rufino L. Macagba, Jr., who wanted to address the need for a nursing school to complement the then Lorma Hospital. The school’s name was taken from the first syllable of the founder’s middle and last name—Lorenzana and Macagba. The college has another campus in
San Juan, La Union where basic education programs are offered.
The institution has eight college units offering courses in
Health Sciences, Business, Teacher Education, Psychology, and
Computer Studies and Engineering. Lorma Colleges also has a
Graduate Studies department with degree programs in Nursing and Information Systems and a
Skills Development Institute department with technical-vocational courses. In addition to these higher education programs, the school also provides the complete basic education program that includes Senior High School (SHS) curricula, specifically for the
Academic and the
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) tracks.
