What does Lorma Colleges stand for?

Lorma Colleges is a private educational institution established in 1970 by Dr. Rufino L. Macagba Jr. The school’s name was taken from the first syllable of the founder’s middle and last name---Lorenzana and Macagba. It has another campus in San Juan which offers basic education curriculum from pre-school, elementary, and high school.

Lorma Colleges offers paramedical courses such as nursing and physical therapy as well as programs on management, arts and information technology. In addition to undergraduate and graduate programs, Lorma Colleges also has a K-12 basic education program. Other offerings include short-term Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) courses related to Biomedical Equipment Servicing, Medical Transcription, and Programming that are taught by the school’s Skills Development Institute.

In 2000, Lorma Colleges was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) as a Center of Development for Excellence in IT Education in Region 1. The school has also been granted with an Autonomous and Deregulated status by the same institution.

  • Lorma Colleges’ Grade School and Special Science High School Programs are accredited by the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities – Accrediting Agency, Inc (ACSCU-AAI).
  • The institution’s Lorma International School is considered to be the first international school in the Ilocos Region.
  • Lorma Colleges is the first and only private higher educational institution in the said region to be issued with an ISO certification by the Anglo Japanese – American Registrars Inc. (AJA).
