Loyola College of Culion (LCC) is a private, Catholic school in
Culion, Palawan. The school traces its roots to the Culion Catholic Primary School, which was started by Jesuits in 1936. In 1951, the St. Ignatius High School was established in the area; and, a few years later, the primary school merged with this high school and became the
St. Ignatius Academy. Three decades later, the academy began offering college programs and was named
St. Ignatius College. It was renamed to
Loyola College of Culion in 1988, the same year its four-year course in Literature was recognized by the government.
At present, the college offers bachelor's degree programs in
Entrepreneurship and
Literature. Its high school department includes a Senior High School (SHS) program with the
Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand and the
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) strand. These programs are duly recognized by the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED) and the Department of Education
(DepEd).
