What does Mary Chiles College stand for?

Mary Chiles College

Mary Chiles College (MCC) is a private academic institution established in 1913 as Mary Chiles Nurses Training School at old Mission House of the Disciples located in Azcarraga Street which is presently known as Recto. The school envisions itself as an educational institution that can offer one of the best practices in Southeast Asia; thus, cementing its reputation and its graduates' employability.

MCC is known for its Nursing program, producing a number of passer and topnochers over the years. Aside from nursing, Mary Chiles College also offers midwifery and respiratory therapy courses. The school also offers certificate courses in caregiving as well as diploma courses in midwifery which are recognized by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Another offering is a DepEd-accredited senior high school program featuring Academic and Tech-Voc strands.

MCC's nursing program is one of the best in the country as evidenced by their alumni. These include Menchu De Luna-Sanchez, a Filipino nurse commended by former US president Obama in his State of the Union Address; Abella Quenamed Nurse of the Year in the US; and David Dacanay, nominee for the Anne Rogan Nursing Award

  • MCC has a base hospital, the Mary Chiles Hospital.
  • MCC is affiliated with the known specialized centers in the Philippines such as Veterans Memorial Medical Center, AFP Medical Center, National Center for Mental Health, Philippine Orthopedic Center, and Jose Fabella Hospital.
  • In 1980, MCC pioneered the offering of the two-year Respiratory Therapy Course in the Country.
