MATS College of Technology (formerly Mindanao Aeronautical Technical School) is a private aviation and maritime school in Davao City. It was founded by Atty. Senforiano B. Alterado Sr. in the 1970s as the Philippine Flying School. The school is considered to be one of the first schools that offer Aviation courses in Mindanao. With its mission of cultivating an educational environment of excellence, MATS College is complete with modern facilities and equipment. The campus houses a forensic laboratory, a mock bridge, a mini hotel, and a hangar for its students.
The college offers courses in the fields of Aviation, Maritime Education, Business, Criminology, and Engineering. In addition to tertiary level programs, the school also has a Senior High School (SHS) program with the Academic and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) strands. Courses under the supervision of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), like Basic Training in Seafaring and Navigational Watchkeeping, are available as well.
MATS College of Technology and its programs are recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA). It is also a member of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU).
