Color-coded. Modern. Fun.
The Sonic Boom is MINT’s state-of-the art music and sound recording studio where students develop and edit audio productions. This professional recording studio was designed specifically to give students access to the latest in hardware and software technology for audio production. Students in the Music Business Management program are able to learn the effectively plan, produce, and edit their musical works in an environment that rivals some of the best recording studios in the Philippines.
The five color-coded classrooms, namely Menthol, Spearmint, Peppermint, Lemonmint and Indigo, do not have blackboards. Instead, these classrooms are equipped with 42-inch LCD screens that professors and students can use for audio-visual presentations. Glass boards are also installed to replace chalkboards.
In addition, MINT installed a bean bag room to ensure that learning is both fun and relaxing.
The unique design of the MINT classrooms provides numerous options for collaborative space. Students have been able to use such rooms as Spearmint, Peppermint and Geek Central to conceptualize, design and critique each others work. Students are given the opportunity to voice their opinions and suggestions about the work of their peers, while faculty act as mentors. This provides for a very open and transparent environment and the results are apparent through the student’s works.
This all-Mac lab is equipped with Apple iMac desktops that are also dual-bootable with Windows operating systems. iOS programming can be performed here using Apple’s dedicated X-Code programming platform. Our iOS program is to provide the skills and knowledge to develop on the most popular mobile platform used in companies globally. The all-Mac lab is also equipped with the latest in game design and programming software. X-Code is also the same platform used to design games on any Apple device. The open source platform, Game Salad, is another one used for game designing specifically onto the iPad, which all students are provided by MINT upon enrolling into any four-year program.
