BSMarE is a four-year diploma course leading to the career of a Marine Engineer Officer, i.e, Fourth Engineer Officer, Third Engineer Officer, Second Engineer Officer, and finally Chief Engineer Officer. 

The program has a total of 192 credit units summarized as follows:

NON-ACADEMIC SUBJECTS: 5 Lecture Hours; 11 Laboratory Hours

Shipboard Training

The Shipboard Training is a 40-unit course pre-requisite to graduation in accordance with 1978 STCW Convention, as amended, and CHED requirements.  Thus, after successfully passing the three (3) year academic requirements, the Dean of Shipboard Training and Continuing Education will arrange your training onboard NYK Line vessels for duration of 12 months. Your shipboard training will be supervised and evaluated in accordance with the tasks indicated in the Training Record Book (TRB). Upon debarkation, you will submit your duly accomplished TRB to the Dean of Shipboard Training and Continuing Education (DSTCE) for post shipboard evaluation.
