Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasay (PLP), also known as City University of Pasay (CUP), is a public educational institution founded in 1994 and is managed by the local government of Pasay City. Its campus is located in Pasadena Street, adjacent to the City Hall.
PLP was conceptualized by former Mayor Pablo Cuneta along with the city councilors and started out with only 384 students and 11 members of the faculty. It was established to provide affordable, quality education for the youth of Pasay City, catering the indigent yet deserving students. The university offers degree programs in the fields of education, nursing, public governance, business and office administration. It also has a Bachelor of Laws program catered to aspiring lawyers.
The City University of Pasay is a member of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU) and National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (NAASCU). It is the home of the CUP Eagles team that continues to be recognized in the local athletic scene. In 2012, the school won 1st place in the NAASCU Cheerleading Competition.
At present, the university continues to equip its students with relevant skills and knowledge that would help them develop into competent individuals thriving in their chosen fields.
