PATTS College of Aeronautics is one of the Philippines’ top aeronautical schools today. PATTS, which stands for Philippine Air Transport and Training Services, was formed in 1969 through a partnership between Filipino and American aviators. During that time, the school taught one-year courses like Airframe Mechanics and Powerplant Mechanics. By its second year, PATTS offered the Aeronautical Engineering Degree Course and the two-year Communication Technician Course. The next two decades have been favorable for PATTS as they garnered more recognition and successfully graduated new aviation professionals. By 1989, the school has gained a “college” status.
Today, PATTS College of Aeronautics provides undergraduate courses similar or related to Aeronautical Engineering and Aviation Technology and also accommodates students who would prefer to study Hospitality and Tourism Management. Graduates from its Aeronautics Engineering course regularly top the PRC Licensure Examination. PATTS alumni usually find careers in airline companies like Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific, while others prefer to go to the Philippine Air Force.
