What does Philippine College of Criminology stand for?


Philippine College of Criminology

The Philippine College of Criminology (PCCr) is a private educational institution that specializes in the field of criminology founded in 1954 by former Supreme Court Justice Felix Angelo Bautista. Its campus is situated in Sta. Cruz, Manila. PCCr offers undergraduate and graduate degrees primarily in police science and liberal arts. By 1961, Its graduate school gained government recognition and started offering master's degrees in criminology. A doctoral program was later added in 1993.

Aside from the college courses, PCCr also has a comprehensive Senior High School (SHS) program. A Bachelor of Laws program is also being offered by the school through the Manila Law College. Review classes for the Criminology Licensure Examination as well the Bar Exam are also conducted on the campus. The college's curriculum is mainly patterned after its international counterparts and the standards set by the International Society of Criminology.

Throughout the years, PCCr has been producing board topnotchers and passers. Many of its graduates are now part of the law enforcement agencies in the country. Recognized as one of the pioneer school for Criminology in the Philippines and even in Southeast Asia, the college's main priority is to develop individuals that are proficient in the field of criminal justice and will exemplify peace and order.

  • Some distinguished alumni of the School are Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome; Director Gen. Recaredo Sarmiento II, Retired & Former PNP Chief; Director Gen. Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Former PNP Chief and Secretary of the Dept. of Public Works and Highways (DPWH); Chief Supt. Pedro E. Bulaong, Former District Director, WPD PNP and presently Assistant Director of the NBI
  • In the June 2017 Criminologists Licensure Examinations (CLE), There were 124 passers who came from PCCR. One of the topnotchers, Florida Blanca D. Zita, ranked 8th in the exam.
  • PCCr's programs are recognized by major organizations like the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) and Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).
