The
Philippine College of Technology (formerly Philippine School of Technology) is a
NEW GENERATION EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION located at the Heart of Davao City. It began in 1993 as a
technical school providing short-term courses, mostly in the area of industrial arts. Eventually, it offered technical programs in the paramedical field (One of the pioneers in Davao to offer Practical Nursing), in information technology, and in home economics. In 2000, PCT started to have a degree program in Hotel & Restaurant Management; and, the school has been growing in students and in program offerings since then. Aside from Bajada, the college also has a campus in
Calinan, Davao City.
At present, the school has available programs for Senior High School students and for College students. The SHS department has selected strands from the
Academic and the
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) tracks. College students can avail of undergraduate programs from seven departments, namely:
Education; Business Education and Governance; Accounting; Information & Communication Technology; Hospitality; Trade and Industry; and,
Health Services. Included in these courses are
one- to two-year associate or ladderized programs. Furthermore, PCT is a
TESDA Accredited Assessment and Training Center; and, it provides a variety of
TVET courses for those who are interested in getting their
National Certificate (NC).
