What does Philippine Women's University Manila stand for?

Philippine Women’s University (PWU) was founded with the goal to empower women through higher education. It was one of the few schools in Manila to accept female students during its time. Today, PWU now accepts male enrollees.  The institution offers basic education from preschool to senior high at the Jose Abad Santos Memorial School (JASMS) in Manila and Quezon City. Meanwhile, its Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees are only available in the PWU Manila Campus.

The undergraduate, masters, and doctorate courses are divided into 14 colleges: Arts and Sciences, Fine Arts and Design, Music, the Conrado Benitez Institute of Business Education, Food Technology, Education, International Relations and Diplomacy, Hospitality Management, Medical Technology, Nursing, Nutrition, Pharmacy, Social Work, and Tourism. PWU also provides distance learning and the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

Philippine Women’s University is currently affiliated with the Philippine Association of College and Universities (PACU), the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU), and the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). The school is also recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (DepEd).
