This programs molds Social Workers that are passionate, critical and analytical thinkers. graduates of the program deal with vulnerable sectors of society such as women, children, our indigenous people, the elderly and the physically and mentally challenged. Its more than 1,000 hours of On the Job Training further immerses students in community and agency field work allowing them to apply theories and methods taught in the classroom. PWU's School of Social Work's performance in the Board Exams has consistently been above the national average. In 2013, the No.1 slot came from one of its graduates.

Career opportunities in the field of Social Work are found in Local Governments, Hospitals for Medical Services, Courts and Non Government Organizations engaged in Community Service and Sustainable Development, Community Organizing, Advocacy and Social Action in International Social Work. There are also employment opportunities in Research, Counseling, Training and Consultancy.
