Ramon Magsaysay Technological University (RMTU) is a state university established in 1910. It was named after former Philippine president Ramon Magsaysay, whose birthplace is in Iba, Zambales. It was formed after merging three educational institutions---Ramon Magsaysay Polytechnic College (RMPC), Western Luzon Agricultural College (WLAC) and Candelaria School of Fisheries (CSF). In 1988, it officially became a university through the Republic Act No. 8498.
RMTU has seven campuses located in Iba (Main),
Botolan,
Candelaria,
Castillejos,
Masinloc,
Sta. Cruz,
San Marcelino. The institution offers a wide array of fields. Some of the courses offered include agriculture, electrical engineering, industrial technology, physical education, tourism, public administration, law, and psychology. RMTU also has a
Senior High School (SHS) program tackling technical-vocational-livelihood (TVL) and academic tracks. Individuals and professionals can take advantage of its night classes available for those who cannot take regular day classes.
