Siena College of Taytay (SCT), formerly known as St. Catherine Academy, is a private academic institution. It was founded in 1957 by the Dominican Sisters and has sister schools in Quezon City and San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. SCT prides itself on operating and improving the community through Christian formation.
In 1965, the school fully established its Kindergarten, Elementary, and High School levels, all which later were accredited by the then-Department of Education, Culture, and Sports (now the Department of Education, or DepEd). By 1982, the college department opened, accepting students who would like to study courses in Business Administration, Computer Education, Secondary Education, and Secretarial Administration, as well as two-year programs and short courses. At the same time, the school was renamed to Siena College of Taytay due to its tertiary offerings.
Since then,SCT continues to add more courses to meet the needs of the 21st century. To date, they have courses in nursing, computer engineering, electronics and communication engineering and industrial engineering. Their inclusive community, which involves students’ parents, its alumni, and other stakeholders, carry on living the legacy of the school’s motto: "Seeking the Truth by Journeying with the Poor."
