Southern City Colleges, Inc. (SCC) is a private educational institution in
Zamboanga City. It was founded in 1946 through accountant Francisco M. Caliolio, Sr. The school started as
Southern Academy and was providing
technical courses in Typewriting, Stenography, and Bookkeeping. When more students were interested in enrolling, secretarial and commerce courses were added to the academy's list of programs. In 1962, the school started offering undergraduate degree programs, consequently earning its college status. Currently, SCC has three campuses in the city: the
Central/Main Campus at Pilar St.; the
West Campus in San Jose, Gusu; and the
East Campus in Divisoria.
At present, the SCC Central Campus offers
undergraduate degrees in
Business Administration and Accountancy, Criminology, Engineering, Information Technology, Teacher Education, and
Liberal Arts. The school also has a Senior High School department providing the
Academic, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), and
Sports tracks. Aside from these programs,
TESDA Courses are also available, like Animation, Hotel and Restaurant Services, Hardware Servicing, and Programming.
