Southern Leyte State University - Tomas Oppus is a public educational institution part of the five campuses that comprise the
Southern Leyte State University. The Tomas Oppus campus initially began as a community college in 1970, created through the passing of Barangay Resolution No. 52. Interestingly the Tomas Oppus campus was one of the three (3) campuses that were integrated by
RA 9261 in order to establish the province-wide university of Southern Leyte.
Being the
College of Education under the system, the Tomas Oppus campus opens its admissions for students who wanted to take up a degree in
Elementary Education and
Physical Education. Another available program is an undergraduate degree in
Business Administration, suitable for business-oriented students. Along with these undergraduate programs are graduate and postgraduate degree programs in
Education and
Public Administration, which are the
only graduate school programs offered among the external campuses.
