St. Mary’s College is a private Catholic school in
Quezon City. It is the first pontifically approved congregation for women in the Philippines. The Congregation, originally known as the Beaterio de la Compañia de Jesus, was founded in 1684 by Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo, a Chinese-Filipino mestiza. It started as one of the first exclusive schools for girls in
1725, but eventually, St. Mary’s College admitted boys in the Grade School after the Second World War in 1945.
St. Mary’s College offers
Basic Education up to Senior High School. The school gives the student the chance to choose among SHS strands within in the Academic Track, namely Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (
STEM), Accountancy, Business and Management (
ABM), Humanities and Social Science (
HumSS), and General Academic Strand (
GAS). In the college department, the school offers academic courses such as Communication, Teacher Education, Social Work, Psychology, Office Administration and Accounting Technology.
