What does St. Scholastica's College - Manila stand for?

St. Scholastica’s College Manila (SSC) is an all-girls Catholic institution founded in 1906 by the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing to teach religion to the children of Manila. By 1909, the school has become one of the pioneer institutions of the formal study of music with its Conservatory of Music program. 

SSC offers Basic Education Program composed of Grade School, Junior and Senior High School. It also has a Night Secondary High School available for working and financially-challenged female students. The institution’s Higher Education Department has undergraduate and postgraduate programs composed of the schools of Accountancy, Business, Arts and Sciences, and Music (open to male students). SSC also has the Institute of Hotel, Leisure and Restaurant Management.

SSC's alumnae consist of famous personalities from different industries, most especially in politics with the late Philippine President, Corazon Aquino, who graduated elementary school with honors. Other notable alumni include Mary Grace Dimacali, president of Mary Grace Foods Inc.; Senator Risa Hontiveros; Olivia Garcia "Bong" Coo, known as Asia's Bowling Queen; National Artist Dr. Lucresia R. Kasilag, ang many more.
