Program Description

The Master of Arts in Family Psychology and Counseling program prepares the students for the professional practice of family psychology and counseling. This degree program develops psychologists and counselors to play an effective role in ensuring the proper and healthy functioning of each member of the family, and families as a whole. It equips students with knowledge and skills for selecting and utilizing strategies most suited for families and individuals that comprise them.

Program Objectives

At the end of the degree program, students will be able to:

  1. Manifest basic understanding of how the personality, roles, responsibilities, life transitions, values,  and environment of family members affect the entire family system;
  2. Be exposed to various methods of becoming aware of and handling the needs of individual family members and the family as a whole; and
  3. Develop enhancement of the skills needed in dealing with individual, marital and family concerns in the counseling /therapeutic process.
