St. Scholastica's College Tacloban (SSCT) is a private Catholic school in the municipality of
Palo, Leyte. It was founded in 2000 by the
Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing, who have long since been active in the health sector in the area. Theses sisters managed the Divine Word Hospital, and when the Divine Word University of Tacloban closed in 1995, the sisters decided to establish a
College of Health Sciences.
At present, SSCT offers programs from the preschool to the college level. Its basic education department has a Senior High School (SHS) program with the
GAS, STEM, and
TVL strands. For college students, the institution has degree courses in
Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, and Psychology; the college provides bridging programs for non-STEM SHS graduates, who are interested in taking up its medical allied courses.
