What does St. Theresa's College, Quezon City stand for?

St. Theresa’s College of Quezon City is an all-girls private school established in 1915 in Manila by the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. However, the destruction of the war pushed the missionary sisters to move to its current location in Quezon City in 1947. The institution is the first all-girls school to have a seven-year accreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU).

St. Theresa’s College cover pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 with mainly Academic strands. To foster a better learning experience, St. Theresa’s College has co-curricular activity programs such Kabalikatan or the outreach program; Kasamahan or the community involvement; and Samahan or the social awareness program. The school also encourages young girls to join Socialized Instructional Activities for the Advanced Group to enhance various talents and skills that they may be able to use in the real world.

STC-QC currently holds a Level III accreditation from PAASCU and is a member school of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP). St. Theresa’s College is also home to licensure exam topnotchers in dentistry, accounting, education among others.

  • STC-QC is home to a lot of known media personalities such as the late director Marilou Diaz-Abaya, Mel Tiangco, Jessica Zafra, Korina Sanchez, and Patricia Evangelista. 
  • The Society of Publishers in Asia awarded St. Theresa’s College of Quezon City alumna Jing Castañeda-Velasco an award of excellence for her work in human rights reporting under ABS-CBN Investigative and Research Group.
  • STC-QC students are called Theresians, and their motto is Virtute, Scientia, Artibus Floreat which means Education in and through Virtue, Science, and Art.
